JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Description:
• Perform shilled technical work in the administration of optometry procedures for the sake of diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• Set up equipment and material for Optometry Technology Lab, as per faculty member’s instructions.
• Prepare and maintain documentation of lab inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Arrange purchase orders for lab material and supplies, and lab budget.
• Prepare and maintain documentation of all lab protocols and procedures, and safety rules.
• Attend technical and lab safety training as deemed necessary
REQUIREMENTS
Experience, Skills, And Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in optometry Technologist from a reputable college/ university.
• A master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience after graduation.
• Work experience in a college/ university is preferred.
• Licensed in optometry or eligible.
• Familiarity with lab safety rules and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to work and coordinate with faculty and other lab staff as member of a team.
• Strong computer skills, English communication skills, and good time management skills.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
AUIB is an American-style, nonprofit university located next to the Baghdad International Airport in Baghdad. This large-scale, multi-million dollar project is funded by Iraqi and U.S. donors, both public and private. The university opens for students on Jan. 17, 2021, with the College of Arts & Sciences, College of International Studies, and the College of Business. Eventually, there will be 10 colleges at the university, including a College of Medicine.
