Position Summary: We are in search of a talented WordPress Webmaster to spearhead the development and maintenance of our newly designed website. This role encompasses both front-end and back-end responsibilities, demanding proficiency in WordPress development, code analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional user experience while adhering to brand standards.
Core Responsibilities:
• Creating WordPress themes and plugins.
• Analyzing current codes and industry developments.
• Optimizing web pages for maximum efficiency.
• Designing and implementing new features and functionality.
• Maintaining brand consistency across all web pages, among other duties.
• Troubleshooting and improving current back-end applications and processes.
• Ensuring high performance and availability and managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
• Formulating more efficient processes and solving problems.
• Ensuring the alignment of web design and user experience requirements.
• Creating a more seamless experience for visitors.
• Collaborating with other team members to establish objectives and design more functional.
• Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
• Ensuring all documentation is delivered according to specified guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a similar field, or equivalent industry experience.
• At least 3 years of experience working as a WordPress Developer.
• Web Proficiency.
• Understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment.
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial.
• Understanding of industry trends and content management systems.
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design, as well as aesthetics, is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer, and project management skills.
• Work in teams to ensure all elements of web creation are consistent.
• Always stay consistent with our brand guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Knowledge of development technologies (PHP, JavaScript, HTML, HTML5, jQuery, SQL, CSS, and CSS3).
• Knowledge of Git and other code versioning tools.
• Experience with the front-end frameworks Angular, Vuejs and jQuery.
• Custom CMS theme development qualifications.
• Ability to convert comprehensive layouts and wireframes into working HTML pages.
• Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
• Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
• Be adaptable and able to pick up new techniques.
• Proactive, analytical, and creative thinker, problem solver.
• Fluent in English and Arabic; Kurdish is a good plus.
Professional Experience:
• Proven 3+ years of working experience in the field of graphic design and web development.
• Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications and reusable code for future use.
• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites.
• Extension experience in SEO.
• Experience in mobile app development is a good plus.
• Adequate knowledge of Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design, Premiere) in After Effects.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
AUIB is an American-style, nonprofit university located next to the Baghdad International Airport in Baghdad. This large-scale, multi-million dollar project is funded by Iraqi and U.S. donors, both public and private. The university opens for students on Jan. 17, 2021, with the College of Arts & Sciences, College of International Studies, and the College of Business. Eventually, there will be 10 colleges at the university, including a College of Medicine.
