JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The Company:
Our client is a leading wholesale bank in Bahrain. They provide services in treasury, trade finance and loans.
They are currently looking for a Risk Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee Operational Risk system (Risk Nucleus), follow up for resolution of Incident-reports and recommend Remedial actions where appropriate, as per RMD Policies.
• Monitor / Prepare Market Risk reports as per RMD Policies / CBB guidelines
• Monitor Risk-Limit breaches, for reporting as required.
• Prepare quarterly ICAAP reports (including stress testing) as per RMD Policies / CBB guidelines
• Prepare monthly summary / quarterly Basel-3 reports for CBB.
• Handle Basel II Pillar 3 requirements in coordination with the Financial Controls Department
• Monitor/ report on Liquidity risk as per RMD Policies / CBB guidelines.
• Monitor/ report on Interest Rate risk as per RMD Policies / CBB guidelines.
• Review / provide accurate data-inputs for IFRS-9 ECL calculations
• Implement and monitor adherence to Risk Management procedures and policy.
• Support oversight of Credit Applications to ensure adherence to Credit policy.
• Advise / support other core departments, to ensure that business is consistent with the bank’s risk framework.
• Review / recommend risk-mitigation measures, towards minimizing risk losses across bank-activities.
• Review “Operational Risk” RCSAs on periodic basis.
• Support Head of RMD in executing Risk Management responsibilities and manage day-to-day RMD activities, in his absence.
• Discuss with Internal Audit to resolve any Risk Management related matters.
• Liaise with External Audit to resolve any Risk Management related matters.
• Support periodic review of the Risk-Management policies / framework, in line with CBB guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a business related subject
• Professional Risk qualifications (IRM, FRM, PRM or relevant)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Risk Manager
• Must have in-depth knowledge of different regulatory environments
• People management experience is desirable
• Excellent communication skills
