JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
The Drilling Superintendent is responsible for coordinating and managing drilling operations at the well site. The Drilling Superintendent monitors drilling activities and provides progress reports to the Rig Manager. Additionally, the Drilling Superintendent can provide input concerning well design and drilling program implementation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Manage drilling operations to minimize rig down time and rig operating expenditures.
- Provides and supports rig managers regarding daily activities on the rig including safety, training, managing of Promptt, promoting internal personnel.
- Ensures Rig Managers complete and submit all necessary documents including but not limited to Supply and Maintenance Requests, JSA, Stop cards and HR forms.
- Responsible for the overall safety implementation for assigned rigs.
- Performs bi-monthly rig inspections with Rig Managers, reports to Senior Drilling Superintendent the outcomes. Follows up to ensure findings are resolved.
- Communicates with Maintenance insuring all scheduled maintenance is being performed, and unscheduled repairs are addressed in a timely manner.
- Coordinates rig moves with rig, trucking, service, and third party personnel.
