JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

• Program CMM equipment to do full dimensional inspection of tightly-tolerance, complex injection molded parts.
• Export to Excel, analyze against clients drawings.
• Generate an inspection plan based on clients’ drawings utilizing the most appropriate equipment or tooling.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to Engineering and Production Departments regarding dimensional results of sample parts
• Perform mechanical inspection where a CMM is not suitable.
• Maintain calibration of all inspection equipment in accordance with lab procedures
• Support Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) program development, testing and implementation into production
• Generate necessary internal documentation to support program development and implementation
• Perform dimensional and visual inspection to blueprint and guide sheets using CMM, standard gages, customized gages and comparators
• Perform Gage R&R support
• Validation support on all measuring system analysis equipment in cell as required
• Perform data analysis for process development as required
• Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements.
• Ensure that precision machinery is in working condition and properly calibrated.
• Operate precision machinery as needed.
• Write or edit programs for precision machinery.

REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate or associate's degree; bachelor's for advancement or other related discipline.
• 5 year minimum Inspection experience in assembly, surface treatment, and machined parts processes.
• Experience working in a CMM environment
• Experience with computer aided programming and operation of (CMM)
• Knowledge and experience of 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools
• Ability to program CMMs, experience with CMM software a plus.
• Have a working knowledge of statistics and data analysis are useful in this position, as this job requires the programmer to analyze testing data to ensure the machine if functioning properly.
• Proficiency with mechanical/manual inspection .(Caliper, Micrometer, Height gage, Sine Plate, etc)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Expert level understanding of GD&T and years of applying in a work (manufacturing) setting
• Self-starter, desire to "own” the inspection of a part from start-to-finish. Proficiency in Calypso CMM programming.
• Previous shop experience in Metrology / Inspection discipline and programming or scripting experience
• Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion Essential Duties & Responsibilities
