JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

- To manage and oversee all the functions of the Site Medical Facility providing integral support coordinating with the nursing officer.
- Maintain medical records system.
- To advise on and assist with the interpretation and implementation of current local Saudi health legislation.
- To construct and implement appropriate medical policy taking into account the above and advice from Chevron medical department.
- To provide limited primary care facilities to employees with minor illnesses or injuries occurring at the site; provide medical examinations.
- To assist in the treatment and disposal of any employees or others injured on the S-Chem site.
- To assist in monitoring the sickness absence records of employees to maintain the well-being of those with health problems and to advise as appropriate including counseling of employees.
- To provide advice on placement of personnel and their rehabilitation following absence due to illness or injury
- To advise on the optimum scope of medical equipment that should be available at each worksite
- To arrange and conduct training courses for identified employees in First Aid, Advanced First Aid and any other health related courses required by the company.
- To monitor and advise on pre-employment and periodical medical examination of personnel including special groups as identified in the course of workplace audits
- To assist in the management of employees or families with health problems being treated in the local approved facilities
- To liaise with Chevron medical facilities in UK and USA regarding Chevron employees and their families and also regarding policy and procedures
- To advise management on all aspects of health and its effect on worker workplace interface.
- To advise on the health aspects of hazardous processes and arrange screening of those personnel involved if required
- In conjunction with the occupational hygienist or safety officer advise on the health aspects of policy relating to the provision and use of protective clothing and equipment
- To advise on provision and implementation of a working and effective Drug and Alcohol Policy

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS:
- University graduate in Medicine.

EXPERIENCE:
- 8 to 10 years’ experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Experience in Occupational Health is a must.
