JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
HSE Officer (Infrastructures)
• For all the aspects related to security, hygiene and environment for BESIX activities in the construction site:
- Establish and keep up to date a list of legal and normal HSE obligations
- Launch and ensure the follow-up of all the administrative necessary steps
- Establish and apply processes and specific instructions as well as ensure their coherence with the IMS structure and content.
• For all the aspects related to security, hygiene and environment linked to project activities for which he is responsible:
- Prepare the Health & Safety Plan in collaboration with those involved within the company, and obtain the approval from the client.
- Search for and propose all measures for the improvement of accident prevention
- Assist all participants in the search for preventive measures and improvements related to security.
- Participate in the choice of methods related to HSE objectives. Issue and control PPSPS, additives and suppliers.
- Prepare specific security and health instructions linked to the methodology and integrate it into the PQP´s.
- Manage the PPSPS and ensure its implementation within the hierarchy
- Liaise with the Security Coordinator and various organizations, and participate in the CISSCT meetings.
- Ensure the finalisation of all HSE documents.
REQUIREMENTS
• Industrial or Civil engineer with min. three years of experience in a senior HSE Advisor’s role, preferably within large international marine/infrastructure construction projects, preferably oversea.
• Formal education in Health and Safety management.
• Safety coordinator level A or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of key concepts of HSE management.
• Experience in the establishing, updating and the application of standard documents in medium sized and large companies.
• Able to develop and to defend mid- and long term adjusted and relevant objectives.
• You are willing to work abroad as an expat on one of our large construction sites
