JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

1. Project survey and inspect all OSP activities on the sites.
2. Survey and identify the OSP routes and its potential customer connectivity.
3. Inspect OSP construction activities as per construction drawings.
4. Project implementation as per construction standards.
5. Prepare site diary as per project implementation quantity.
6. Issue site instructions to subcontractor.
7. Issue Site discrepancies if the contractor implement project in sub-standard manner.
8. Issue and keep track of OSP materials quality on the site.
9. Conduct PAT/FAT for the implemented project.
10. Check Construction /As-built BOQ and Drawings.
11. Identify the GPS coordinates for the routes, manholes and customer location.
12. Work Contacts: Shall coordinate with OSP contractors.
13. Work Conditions: Shall travel throughout Kingdom for survey and supervision of OSP projects.
14. Prepping and fusion or mechanical splice SM and occasionally MM fiber optic cables, in both outdoor and indoor settings
15. Constructs proper splice cases pressurized and non-pressurized, using all types and sizes of cable, including but not limited to: grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing
16. Able to place a mid-sheath splice
17. Work with Construction PM’s and/or OSP Engineers to perform splicing as directed
18. Testing and troubleshooting fiber using an OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifier and scope
19. Provide the OSP Engineers with detailed reports of field splicing activity
20. Work flexible hours, after hours work which would include nights and weekends
21. Strong communication skills are absolutely essential as is a cooperative attitude toward co-workers and third party vendors
22. Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision.
23. On call rotation responding and restoring services for emergency calls, responsible for being on
the job at short notice to repair damaged cables until service is restored.
24. Reviews and interprets underground and aerial cable records in existing records, on maps or in the field

REQUIREMENTS

27. Perform all work as necessary to conform to quality control guidelines (includes compliance with requirements outlined in applicable regulations such as: OSHA, FCC,NESC and NEC, etc ; as well as
28. following procedures as outlined in the Installation, Technical, Operations, and Safety Manuals, and Employee Handbook)
29. Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment
30. Perform other duties as requested
31. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Inspector
