JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS

- Propose and agree with the Service Asset and Configuration Manager CIs to be uniquely identified with naming conventions; ensures that developers and configuration system users comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates;
- Population of the CMS;
- Manages asset records and CMS, central libraries, common codes and data; ensures regular housekeeping of the asset records and CMS;
- Uses the CMS to facilitate impact assessment for RFCs and to ensure that implemented changes are as authorized;
- Performs configuration audits to check that the physical inventory is consistent with the asset records and CMS and initiates any necessary corrective action.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- The SACM Administrator is responsible for the Control of assets in one or more significant area, ensuring that administration of the acquisition, storage, distribution, movement and disposal of assets is carried out.
- Produces and analyses registers and histories of authorized assets (including secure master copies of software, documentation, data, licenses and agreements for supply, warranty and maintenance), and verifies that all these assets are in a known state and location.
- Ensures that there are no unauthorized assets such as unlicensed copies of software.
- Manages CIs and related information.
- Applies and maintains tools, techniques and processes for identification, classification and control of CIs and ensuring related information is complete, current and accurate.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates with Transferable Iqama Only

ESSENTIAL

- Two years of professional, relevant experience working in Configuration Control, Change, IT Asset Management or an equivalent ITSM roles.
- Experience in auditing and maintaining data within a CMDB environment.
- Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Must have suitable qualifications relevant to the role being applied for, or the demonstrable equivalent experience in Telecommunications configuration
- Must have experience of outside working practices in a Middle East environment and climate.
- Must be able to follow instructions as issued by the SACM Manager.
- ITIL v3 Foundations Certification.

DESIRABLE

- Familiarity with one or more CMDB solutions. (BMC, etc.)
- Experience in delivery of communications services.
- Experience of living or working in the Middle East.
- Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively.
- Self-motivated, and highly focused.
- Good analytical, planning, presentation, writing, and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively across teams.
