JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Sightsavers has an opportunity for an experienced Research Advisor with a strong interest in health and disability research to join its Policy & Strategic Programme Support team.

The post holder will work with our global research team and will be responsible for supporting research and other evidence generating activities within Sightsavers’ health, education and social inclusion programmes in East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA) and South Asia regions.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate must have a postgraduate degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, social or behavioral sciences or a related discipline. You will have a good knowledge of different research methods including both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Candidates with a good knowledge of survey research, including a practical and well-organised approach to the analysis of survey data will be of particular interest. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to plan and supervise research projects is required for this position, as well as experience of research in ECSA and/or South Asia. Level IV (fluency-speaking/reading/writing) English ability is required.
The post holder must be able to travel internationally for up to 16 weeks a year.
