JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The role of the Arabic Paralegal will be initially for a fixed term contract for 6 months, with a view to becoming permanent after this time. Our client is an organisation that has become the largest in the world and leads by example with compassion and assistance in humanitarian aid. Hosting a community of UN agencies and Intergovernmental Organisations they aim to provide a wide range of services including: emergency preparedness; response and evacuation; licensing and government services; secure and cost efficient warehouses and facilities; access to partnerships and fundraising and the development of an innovation lab.

It is essential that candidates are able to speak Arabic and English fluently to a very high standard, including reading and writing formats and preference will be given to those with experience of working within a UAE Governmental organisation. The focus of this role will be to assist with all corporate and commercial arrangements including review of new and existing contractual agreements for 3rd parties and the NGOs and charities they work alongside on a global scale. You will champion the organisation’s contracting and risk management standards to ensure clear and concise internal processes and policies, handle governmental documents and extremely confidential matters.

A great deal of time will be spent reviewing and editing contracts and responding to complex legal enquiries regarding the same, so candidates are expected to be proactive and manage their time effectively to ensure you act as the pivotal contact for all concerned. You will also provide accurate translations of technical language in Arabic to English and vice versa. Ongoing contributions to developing the team’s legal knowledge and ways of working will also become part of this role. You will support the full team with all legal correspondence, documents and affairs and work closely with the Legal & Compliance Officer to develop strong robust policies and ways of working. The role will also include the supervision of the archiving and document management systems to ensure highly confidential information is secure and all associated administration is sound and complete within all files.

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be successful in applying for this role you must possess exceptionally high standards of both the Arabic and English languages in spoken, reading and written format. A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role is required, preferably within in house legal, governmental or NGO organisations. You will also possess a relevant law degree and be adaptable, professional and commercially aware to ensure compliance and regulatory matters are adhered to at all times when new laws and recommendations are required.
