JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

We at Al Tayer Group are looking for an Assistant Manager - Group Corporate Communications to manage communications guidelines, planning and execution across Al Tayer Group (ATG) to ensure consistency and compliance in branding and communicating key messages to all stakeholders in order to effectively position the organisation in the market and maximise the value of the brand. This role will also need to ensure the daily management of all internal/external communication tools/assets.

Responsibilities
• Participate in the development of the unit strategy by providing input from the perspective of Corporate Communications within the Central Marketing department, ensuring that relevant goals and objectives are incorporated
• Participate in the development of the Corporate Communication business plans ensuring alignment with Group plans.
• Ensure the implementation across the BUs and conformance to the Marketing strategic guidelines, policies and procedures established at the corporate level, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provide input on the function's budget requirements to the Group Corporate Communications Manager.

Corporate Communications Strategy
• Contribute towards the development of the ATG internal and external communications strategy to build a consistent Group brand and convey key messages to stakeholders.
• Manage the governance of the brand communication guidelines and standards across ATG to guide and ensure adherence.
• Assist in designing, development and introduction of a communications strategy on ATG tools, including the corporate website, intranet and across the brand toolkit.
• Promote ATG brand image in the relevant markets, and monitor how the image is perceived in national and international publications.
• Lead enhancement of corporate brand image.
• Responsible for all associate links to ATG brand identity and its continued development.
• Develop ATG internal and external communication templates, and address any areas of non-compliance identified.

External Communications
• Manage the development of ATG's crisis communication plans to enable timely and effective brand management in the event of a crisis.
• Manage and review the creation and dissemination of ATG information to the media in the event of a crisis.
• Establish and maintain a press library of images and historical milestones pertaining to coverage on ATG.
• Oversee platform management for the website including analytics, content development and web support to BU marketing collaborating with external vendors and the Group IT function to manage all aspects of the web platform and service.
• Manage social media presences for ATG including community, content management as well as social listening.
• MOP's support to BU's who do not have a dedicated marketing function. This will include web development/management, customer journey mapping, brand ethos development, creative design and all collateral and advertising support in addition to specific marketing activations as relevant to the BU.
• Custodianship and management of Group corporate identity to ensure accurate application of identity elements.

Internal Communications
• Work closely with the Business Units to ensure ATG communications guidelines are fully understood and continually enforced.

Required to extend input to policy and guideline implementation.
• Liaise with the Business Units to create communication and concepts that support the achievement of business objectives from a technical and informational perspective.
• Manage the development and execution of ATG's internal communications and corresponding platforms, including the intranet, newsletters, etc.
• Manage the planning and execution of ATG events for internal stakeholders. Manage the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program for ATG and provide strategic direction and guidance on CSR activities to the Business Units.
• Develop all related reports and statements in a comprehensive, accurate and timely manner, and meet business and functional requirements and standards.
• Manage the Group Intranet and internal social platforms.

People Development
• Managing Performance
• Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly.
• Lead the effective implementation of the cascaded key performance indicators (KPIs); collaborate with business units across ATG to support the successful achievement of defined KPIs.

Talent Management
• Contribute to the development and management of rare value added expertise and centres of excellence for assigned area within Communications ensuring alignment with the business units.
• Assist management in the talent development initiatives for the assigned teams, collaborating with functional experts.

Team Management
• Act as a representative of ATG in all business partnerships and forums, displaying authenticity and living the values at all times internally and externally.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or Business Administration.
• Minimum 7-10 years' experience in marketing, brand management and corporate communications, preferably in the retail sector with 2-3 years of this in a management level position.
• Solid knowledge of marketing, brand management and corporate communications principles, practices and techniques
