Description
Amazon's regional category team is looking for an analytical and technically skilled senior business analyst to join our team.
- This position will be responsible for developing metrics and reporting, conversion strategy analysis, and budgeting/costing functions for the group, including working with category leaders, country managers and finance. The person will lead the WBR, MBR and OP process and writing of the documents.
- S/He will be the anchor to derive all business strategies.
- This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as outstanding business acumen and comfort with financial analysis, market research analysis, triangulating data, challenging category leaders and country managers, and writing docs.
- The successful candidate will be a strong leader, can challenge other leaders yet work in a team.
Responsibilities
- Analysis of selection and its efficiency
- Full PNL analysis and identifying opportunities
- Drive improvement of vendor margins, and profitability
- Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
- Develop queries for ad hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting
- Manage and track annual budgeting and purchasing processes
REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in web analytics, business analysis or comparable analytics position.
- Experience in designing and implementing custom reporting systems by managing or guiding technical teams.
- MS Excel, Access and SQL/SAS skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the development of pricing analysis
- MBA is preferred
- Consultancy background is preferred
