Amazon’s UAE Retail team is looking for an exceptionally motivated and talented Category Lead Consumables with a strong customer focus. This leader will work on improving product selection, creating the earth's greatest shopping experience – a store featuring more products, brands, & more compelling content than any store, online or off!

This role is based in Dubai- United Arab Emirates.

Role:
The role requires a mix of strong partnership building and the desire to make the most of the commercial relationship.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop knowledge of supply/ demand trends and success drivers of your category
• Design process relating to sourcing (direct/ indirect supply, priority brands, selection and terms)
• You also facilitate discussions of general conditions, procuring top products and making sure that they are advertised prominently on Amazon in cooperation with Marketing, in coordination with Pan UAE Vendor Managers.
• Execute technical integration with suppliers and lead projects to more efficiently source stock, manage prices, execute promotions and assimilate vendor catalogues.
• Initiation and management of projects and promotions to achieve short- and long-term business objectives
• Agree with vendors on promotions and marketing initiatives and coordinate with the Site Merchandising team to execute these activities
• Liaising with the global Amazon community to drive projects and share best practice
• Liaising with the Buying and Inventory teams to assist in decision making processes for managing stock and inventory
• Participate day-to-day operational aspects of the category, including gathering and addressing customer feedback, price monitoring, business improvement initiatives.
• Communication and marketing Amazon with internal and external parties, whilst accurately tracking and delivering against tight deadlines
• Working with internal teams to develop innovative campaigns, define and drive cost saving initiatives, develop and improve processes.
• Being an ambassador within the industry consistently enhancing the Amazon position
• Hire and develop a team to grow the UAE business

REQUIREMENTS

Basic qualifications
• At least five years work experience, ideally in an online, retail, e-commerce or consulting environment.
• Outstanding analytical skills and experience in planning and forecasting.
• Proven use of supporting tools and systems to deliver business improvement.
• Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas.
• Action and results oriented mentality, combined with the ability to work in a demanding but collegial environment where teamwork is a must.
• Ability to problem-solve using creative thinking and innovation.
• Proven English skills – both verbal and written.
• University degree required ideally in a technical or analytical discipline.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• At least five years work experience, ideally in an online, retail, e-commerce or consulting environment.

• Proven use of supporting tools and systems to deliver business improvement.
• Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas.
• MBA studies is a plus
