Role Summary:

Baker Hughes Incorporated has an opening for Senior Commodity Manager (Commodity Leader) for Chemicals. Essential Responsibilities:

- Design sourcing strategies and develop internal/supplier relationships that extract maximum value from the current and potential supplier base. Strategies are continuously challenged and refined.
- Lead supplier selection process and negotiate global contracts. Develop actionable recommendations based on a clear definition and articulation of options and tradeoffs; develops action plans that anticipate implementation problems and leverages internal and supplier capabilities while building full commitment throughout the process.
- Maintains thorough industry and commodity knowledge to improve quality and on time delivery.
- Provides supervision and leadership to procurement team
- Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement.
- Manage claims. Includes commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. This may also include purchasing activities.
- Negotiate the best commercial and technical package for procurement requirements.
- Work with allocated key suppliers to improve On Time Delivery and Quality statistics to target levels.
- Communicates across direct organization.
- Presents to senior leaders (EB and SEB) in specific purchasing space and on cross-functional teams on how purchasing contributes to overall strategy.
- Assists in the continuous development of the Procurement function towards best practice.
- Identify and deliver value-adding opportunities from the supply chain.
- Advises Functional managers or other Functions regarding approaches, processes and procedures in the own field.
- Has a role as a project leader of medium sized projects or is a major contributor to bigger projects.
- Conducts all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes health, safety and environmental policies, legal compliance requirements and Baker Hughes core values.
- Holds financial responsibility for the procurement team.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Chemistry/Biology or like); MBA desirable.
- 8+ years' experience in sourcing/procurement for direct and indirect spend, including 3+ years' experience in a leadership role.
- In depth knowledge of area of expertise in the Chemicals industry, preferably in Oil Field Chemicals Industry.
- Well-rounded Supply Chain experience and job history with demonstrated leadership's skill.
- Strong negotiation and contract skills and strong alliance management skills.
- Energetic self-starter must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent ability to communicate with internal customers and suppliers.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office systems. Must have intermediate data analysis skills with Excel. Intermediate PowerPoint skills to create their own presentations.

Desired Characteristics:

- SAP knowledge and experience required.
- Manufacturing process knowledge helpful.
