JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Objectives:
• To manage and direct all human resources activities of the division across its operating countries in the GCC, ensuring that the HR objectives and business strategy of the company are reflected in the HR processes and that they are delivered in a professional and proactive manner. Adhere to HR standards and deliver employee-focused HR services in compliance with HR leading practices, government regulations, labour laws, management requirements and HR policies and procedures. The division HR Generalist will be responsible for overseeing and implementing employee relations, payroll and leave processing, workforce planning, recruitment coordination and onboarding, employee administration, performance management, government relations with division Management GM - Human Resources, and Group Recruitment Department.

Main responsibilities:
• Assist in establishing and achieving HR Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the division and monitor their achievement on a periodic basis
• Ensure provision of quality HR services to internal customers in a cost effective
• Manage efficient and consistent employee relations and escalate issues to GM - HR as per set policies
• Prepare the division HR annual budget in consultation with Department Heads and for the review of GM – HR and General Manager and report/seek approval for variances or deviations
• Work with Group Recruitment Department and Managers to ensure hiring ‘best-in-class- talent’ to facilitate achievement of business objectives
• Work closely with the PRO to ensure that all government relations processes are implemented in a cost-effective and timely manner
• Be responsible for employee engagement and wellbeing and work to provide a supportive work environment
• Ensure staff requests are attended to and processed in a timely and accurate manner
• Provide timely and accurate information to external and internal auditors in consultation with the General Manager and General Manager Human Resources, as and when required
• Escalate legal and compliance matters to GM - HR for consultation with General Manager and General Counsel
• Ensure adherence to government regulations and legal requirements across our operating countries in the GCC, as set by prevailing Labour laws and regulations relating to residence permits, visas, exit permit procedures and travel documents
• Develop a pro-active staff communication culture though enhancements of HR processes and systems to ensure all employees are fully aware of HR objectives, policies and procedures
• Monitor on a regular basis all employee movements and headcount, including recruitment, terminations and resignations, transfers, promotions, replacements, etc. ensuring they are in line with the approved HR budget and policies
• Manage the performance appraisal process for the division under the guidance of the Operations Manager and GM - HR
• Provide support and guidance to employees, facilitate employee counseling sessions, provide advice related to grievance and disciplinary procedures, coach managers on conducting performance reviews, and coach employees on the performance management system and process
• Coordinate and oversee the training initiatives for the Division
• Work alongside the Finance team for the reconciliation of payroll processed and ensure its accuracy prior to affecting the monthly payroll
• Allocate work to direct reports, nominate for training as per Company guidelines, conduct performance reviews and manage leave and overtime to ensure efficiency
• Assist with development and review of job descriptions for the Division in coordination with Group Recruitment Department
• Represent the division in dealings with industry associations, conferences, and other relevant bodies as required
• Develop and organize documents and reports for the Operations Manager, GM - HR, as needed and ensure execution of HR decisions within the division
• Participate in ad-hoc HR duties and projects as required

REQUIREMENTS

University Qualifications:
• Business Administration

Other certifications obtained:
• CIPD/ SHRM

Nature and length of previous experience:
• Minimum of 6 years experience with a preference in the retail industry
