JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

DMCC is recruiting for a Head of Coffee Commodity to support and influence the creation of the new DMCC Coffee Centre.
This is a pivotal role in the creation of the Coffee Centre business strategy whilst being accountable for its delivery, maintenance and success.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee all operational activities for the organization that is DMCC Coffee Centre whilst supporting any specific operational requirements of the Tea Centre
• Direct all operational activities across the Coffee Centre including aspects of day-to-day management of the operational team
• Gain and maintain relevant health, safety, and quality certifications for the facility, operations, staff, and other relevant stakeholders
• Provide assurance of food safety across the business
• Translate the company’s strategic plans into defined operational plans
• Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and systems
• Recommend the structure and skill set necessary to successfully achieve the business strategy
• Ensure learning, development and succession plans are in place to build capacity and capability in functional area of responsibility

REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, you need to have the following:

• Relevant logistics qualification preferred at diploma or graduate level
• Experience in leading, facilitating and motivating teams of people across multiple sites and with differing skills and abilities.
• Substantial experience of coffee processing and quality control operations and supply chain management.
• Expert knowledge of food safety, legality and compliance and health & safety within an operational environment. HACCP, QMS and Audit Experience
• Knowledge of green coffee handling and logistics
• Expertise in coffee quality evaluation
• Skilled in coffee roasting and packaging
• Warehouse management
• Familiarity with Dubai and UAE customs authorities and procedures
