Health and Safety Manager (Dubai) – Civil AED 15000-AED 20000 p/m
The role of Health and Safety Manager has become available with a small civil construction organisation whose focus is on phased roll out long lasting quality build.
As Health and Safety Manager you will have responsibility for ensuring all active works are carried out in a safe manner in line with international standards.
The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is a pre-requisite for consideration for all candidates.
Demonstration of understanding of the main legal requirements relating to health and safety in construction work including identification and control of construction workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge is required.
Responsibilities
* Conduct Risk Assessments for the entire site and its employee
* Prepare Method Statements
* On-Going Environmental and Waste Management
* Site Inspections and Auditing
* Ensuring Signage is in place
* Follow-up complaints by employees, clients and any stakeholder
* Liaising with the senior staff onsite, including Foremen in the different departments
* Liaising with the relevant safety authority
* Injury investigation and reporting and keeping of injury logs and statistics
* Enforcement of health and safety policies on site
* Ensuring that all employee and equipment certifications and licences are up to date
* Co-ordinate training related to H&S
* Assist in H&S procurement as necessary
* Keep updated on legislation and legal notices

Salary:
AED
15,000 to 20,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
REQUIREMENTS
Because the organisation is smaller and operate on a phased roll out for quality purposes, the site and works are not of the scale of a MNC. However, the standards required will be. This leaves some room for a Health and Safety Officer who may be in a position to step up to apply for this H&S Manager role, apply their learning and run a site completely on a smaller scale. Another potentially suitable profile will be someone who has ‘acted up’ or deputised for Health and Safety Managers in the past but who now wants to take the leading role. The compensation on offer demonstrates the size and complexity of the role.
Requirements of the role
Previous experience leading a civil construction site (villas, apartments, mixed use living concepts, small hotels, small retail spaces)
You will join a group that employs a variety of nationalities and backgrounds operating from its main site offices.
To be successful you will speak and write fluent English, and speak Hindi.
