JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

AUS is seeking a highly motivated senior programmer with proven experience in developing software for research applications, with emphasis on utilizing open source tools and platforms. The successful applicant is expected to promote and support the development of research-oriented applications that utilize the AUS HPC cluster in a variety of domains that include all engineering disciplines, biology and bioengineering, finance and more.

Required Duties and Responsibilities:

- Promote adoption of the HPC system in AUS research efforts.
- Educate and assist AUS faculty in the development of HPC-based software solutions.
- Provide guidance and oversight to HPC IT operations.
- Contribute to the adoption of HPC system standards.

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in developing scientific software on Unix or Linux platforms.
- Extensive expertise in computer hardware and compute accelerator architectures.
- Strong scientific background (preferably PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or a closely related engineering/science field).
