JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

• Lead all contract administration duties on the project including the preparation of correspondences to Employer (or Employer’s Agents) and Subcontractors
• Provides contractual guidance to Project Team with the focus to maximize revenues, reduce expense and transfer risk.
• Lead change management function (under the Contract and Subcontract) and take lead in the preparation and/or evaluation of claims pertaining to adjustment of time and cost (as applicable) with the assistance of planners , quantity surveyors and other peer groups within the organization.
• Administer awarded contract and subcontracts by ensuring compliance with all relevant terms and conditions pertaining to notices , substantiations , estimates, variations , claims , extension of time etc.
• Provide support for contract review and contract drafting tasks (when required).
• Assist in the compilation of standard sub contract bid documents by participating with peer groups in the organization (Procurement / Engineering / Construction/Legal/Finance) giving due consideration to the conditions of the Main Contract.
• Close out of procurement cycle – preparation of subcontract agreements , variation orders etc.
• Carry out review of proposed warranties , guarantees and undertaking to be submitted to the Employer and/or submitted by the Vendors.
• Performs sub contract closeout , finalize subcontract issues and claims and assist in the preparation of Subcontract Variations.
• Participate in meetings with Project stake holders and provide input on Project Contract /Subcontract status when required.
• Assist in commercial negotiations pertaining to claims and disputes to achieve fair and beneficial closure to the Organization.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Bachelor of Engineering (preferably Civil)/ Bachelor of Quantity Surveying/Bachelor of Law.
• 8-10 Years’ experience in building construction of which at least 4 years should be in the capacity of a Contracts Administrator
• Advanced knowledge of Word processor, Spreadsheet and Presentation applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience using multiple suites of Contracts
• Ability to accurately review and draft complex commercial agreements
• Analytical skills, attention to detail, strong organization skills, ability to multi-task
• Ability to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced environment
