JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
• Review of technical and materials submittals of projects, and insure compliance with project scope, specifications and requirements.
• Coordinate with the design team in other disciplines electrical & civil & prepare coordination drawings for all services & equipment.
• Cooperate with the project manager for the schedule of design and engineering activities and establish target completion dates for MEP design documents to ensure target dates are achieved within the project schedule.
• Attending, hosting and coordinating meetings with third party designers (subcontractors), vendors, consultant and client to resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support to site team whenever required.
• Assist in reviewing of tenders.
• Participate in the development and/or improvement of company procedures that are associated with the design and engineering works.
REQUIREMENTS
JOB SNAPSHOT
• Job Type: MEP Design Engineer, preferred with Substations experience.
• Qualification: Bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• 5+ year’s progressive experience as MEP design engineer in relevant field.
• Good knowledge of HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, lighting & small power systems.
• Strong knowledge of international standards especially NFPA, ASHRAE & BS, and norms and utilities specifications, especially in UAE.
• Working knowledge of HVAC heat load calculations software (preferred HAP).
• Good knowledge of UAE life & safety code regulations & civil defense procedures.
• Read and understand MEP schematics and drawings.
• Good knowledge of CCTV & DACS.
• Computer literate with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
• Strong leadership skillset and a proven track record of leadership and holding teams accountable.
• Preferable experience in design of grid stations (TRANSCO/DEWA).
