JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the outlet operates successfully and is profitable in accordance with the standards of the hotel as well as to be efficient and diplomatic in dealing with all situations involving any aspect of Food and Beverage where the reputation or image of the hotel is represented.

The main duties include:
• Achieves company’s Mission and Vision.
• Involvement in service and guest contact.
• Assists in the co-ordination of organizational and administrative functions in all areas of the Food and Beverage Department.
• Assists in planning and implementing programs, policies and procedures to ensure that service standards are met.
• Budgeting and cost control.
• To ensure that the departmental objectives are cascaded to the colleagues.
• Carries out assignments and instructions as delegated by the F&B management ensuring that all company and Hotel Policies and Procedures and minimum standards are adhered to at all times.
• Assists in the co-ordination of special promotions and provides administrative support necessary.
• Interacts with management of other department within areas of responsibility and develops solid working relationships with them.
• Follows up and at times initiate maintenance orders and purchase requests
• Attends the Food and Beverage meetings.
• Assists in monitoring the activities of competitor venues.
• Participates in public relations activities, sales calls or other promotional activities designed at enhancing the image and profitability of the hotel.
• Provides creative ideas to project and enhance the image of the hotel.
• Assists in the development of ideas and the increased department sales of Food and Beverage.
• Assists identifying market changes which will improve business levels from hotel guests and the local market.
• Assists Outlet Managers in the planning and implementation of effective sales and promotional activities to ensure maximum revenue.
• Mentors, develops and provides on-the-job training to Outlet Manager & Assistant Outlet Managers to strengthen their current performance and preparation for future advancement.
• Monitors and takes corrective action to reduce waste, misuse and breakage of china, glassware, linen and supplies.
• Handles guest complaints and operational challenges.
• Investigates and follows up on JD power feedback for corrective action actions and improvement.
• Ensures Health, Safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Actively involved in the recruitment and hiring process of colleagues.
• Follows emergency procedures and evacuation.
• Assists in the building of an efficient team of employees, by taking an active interest in their training, development, safety and welfare.
• Participates in training and development programs to improve personal or departmental standards liaising with the Training Manager.
• Carries out an efficient leadership style using appraisals and performance management as main tools.
• Carry out Spot checks and Walk arounds – to ensure Health and Safety, HACCP and LQA aspects are covered in the operation
• Implements all new procedures in Financial matters and implements all new policies and procedures in a timely fashion

Salary:
AED 10,000 to 20,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have a certified college or university degree from a leading Hospitality Management institution and will possess a minimum of 1 year experience as a Restaurant Manager in a luxury hotel or high-end standalone restaurant environment with high volume and large team. You will have strong people management experience, and have demonstrated your ability to inspire teams, excellent communication skills.

Other requirements include the ability to handle a large restaurant and manage a multicultural team. You will have knowledge using MicroSoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Power Point, as well as POS and strong written and verbal business English.
