JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

A new opportunity has come up for a well-known event management organization situated in Abu Dhabi. We are recruiting for a high caliber Senior Manager External Affairs to manage and develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, VIPs and potential foundation supporters, ensure the foundation is widely promoted in the regional and international arts industry, and identify and cultivate long-term fundraising opportunities and strategies.

Job Responsibilities
• To lead, manage, and develop consistent, editorial, web, social media and correspondence content consistent with the firm’s vision and agreed upon corporate communication strategy to ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained and the strategic vision is translated into effective actionable plans both internally and externally.
• To develop and execute a public affairs communication plan that best presents the Foundation aiming for continuous growth in the public affairs sector in UAE, GCC and Worldwide.

External Affairs:
• Engage in strategic and project planning with network of international strategic cultural partners and develop milestones and long-term project plans with individual partners, in collaboration with Heads of Departments as appropriate.
• Devise and deliver an external relations strategy to ensure effective communication with key stakeholders. Support relationships with key stakeholders including VIPs, government officials, sponsors, advisors, key strategic partners.
• Devise cultural affairs/cultural diplomacy strategy
• Devise overall fundraising and business development strategy
• Manage high-profile and often complex projects in an organized and methodical manner. Maintain a clear and calm approach in a highly-charged rapidly shifting environment.
• Plan from start-to-finish all board meetings, special events, dinners and galas with stakeholders, liaising with all departments, especially Marketing to manage the press coverage and strategy
• Manage database to produce accurate lists of invitees for events
• Manage the department budget
• Liaise with the international relations consultants as appropriate.
• Represent the firm’s interests at stakeholder and partner meetings and at external events internationally, locally and regionally in collaboration with other departments
• Undertake strategic planning for regional and international travel and develop agendas, briefs, presentations and post visit reports pertaining thereto.

Publications/Corporate Communications:
• Develop all corporate communications, editorial and media content for the foundation (including and not restricted to presentations, correspondence, letters, public appearances, speeches and as assigned)
• Develop content and supervise various projects covering through the line activities, including and not restricted to prints, publications, videos, digital and other communications items.
• Editor and project manage the production of all publications; Develop the editorial and content strategy in coordination with the relevant staff from all other departments for technical content and design, including but not limited to: VIP invitations, yearbook, newsletters, Photo Album, Exhibition books, corporate brochure, films, sponsorship packs, below the line marketing collateral and any other publications
• Ensure that publications are produced within agreed quality (Content, Layout & Design), budget, deadline and reflect agreed editorial and marketing strategy
• Manage the image selection and editorial content of digital assets including the website and social media pages ensuring the highest standards of quality
• Manage the corporate communication style guide that includes, but not limited to, usage of consistent type and size of fonts, presentation lay out and guidelines etc.
• Ensure consistency between English & Arabic Content
• Identify moderator suitable for events as required

Others:
• Manage the external research studies
• Deliver exceptional results personally, whilst managing subordinates’ deliverables and bringing out the best of people and financial resources
• Work passionately, despite long hours and occasional weekends, often being on-call 24/ whenever required
• Perform other jobs as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
• Well educated, minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a well-respected university
• Language: Excellent command of English speaking and writing. Arabic is a strong advantage.
• Professional, used to working in and amongst high-profile, globally recognized institutions
• Significant solid experience in an External Affairs / Institutional Advancement role, either in a non-profit organization or an arts organization
