A leading foreign university is seeking a Student Counsellor based in Dubai to create a caring Campus environment that recognises and supports the diversity of students.

Description
* Provide welfare counselling to students on matters such as academic policy and progression, as well as pastoral care issues including: living skills, health issues, dealing with social stress and anxiety, employment, and advice on campus and university policy and procedures
* Develop, implement and monitor programs that promote well-being and engagement of students
* Manage critical incidents involving students by consulting Critical Incident Management Group and refer students to external agencies for support if required
* Collaborate with partner university, professional organisations and government agencies on issues relation to support and referral
* Monitor welfare and safety of students Under 18 with relevant legislation and be a contact officer for student emergencies
* Liaise with students about accommodation, well being and guardianship
* Participate as a member of Appeals Committee and manage the student voice mechanism

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
* Relevant bachelor's degree and/or formal counselling qualification
* At least 3-4 years of similar experience
* Experience in working within higher education environment would be a plus
* Strong communication and high interpersonal skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively monitor and coordinate workload
* Good knowledge of workplace health and safety as well as the ability to integrate it in daily tasks
