What will be keeping you busy?

In this role, the manager will be part of the team that leads on conceptualizing and creating sustainability and social impact projects, policies and programs that bring to life Careem's mission of simplifying and improving lives and building an awesome institution that inspires. This role is truly cross functional and requires the manager to work across teams to implement, communicate, coordinate, create, lead and report on initiatives related to the sustainable development goals and Careem's sustainability and social impact strategy driven across all stakeholder groups.

Also expect to:

- Manage internal communications on sustainability and social impact to create a culture of sharing ideas and successes, increase understanding and awareness of sustainability and social impact, and how it relates to Careem.
- Manage internal colleague campaigns on volunteering, green office, workshops and trainings.
- Identify and scope new ideas with partners for scalable and high impact projects.
- Conceptualize new and creative ways for Careem to increase its contribution to sustainable development goals and reduce negative social and environmental impacts.
- Support country offices develop sustainability and social impact plans in line with mandate.
- Manage and lead on existing regional projects.
- Track, report and communicate on results of sustainability and social impact projects and campaigns.

REQUIREMENTS

- The ability to identify solutions to problems quickly and implement them with little oversight.
- Ability to lead, advocate, negotiate, convince and engage with teams and external stakeholders on a variety of sustainability issues, backed up by strong data and insights.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in either education, philanthropy, sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, social impact, environmental and/or humanitarian aid or international development in either the public or private sector or civil-society.
- Proven experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation, public speaking, working in fast paced environments across countries and coordinating different projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Solutions oriented, ambitious, self-starter, passionate, with attention to detail, ability to keep multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and doing whatever it takes to deliver reliable results.
- Strong ability to build relationships and work as part of a cross-functional and busy team.
- Strong English verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using and presenting data to make decisions.
- BA or BS degree in a relevant field such as international development, sustainable development, environmental science, political science, or related social science degree.
- Ability to travel as required to regions with Careem operations.

Preferred Skills & Experience

- Arabic or Urdu preferred.
- Master's degree or higher in related discipline
