JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing multi-disciplinary internal engineering resources for the project. This will include providing technical direction, priority setting, deadlines and follow-up.
• Support where necessary other elements of the infrastructure team (M&E, Energy, Rail Control Systems & Permanent Way).
• Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of projects (or project assigned too) including coordination of technical disciplines, quality of designs and adherence to schedule.
• The primary duties of the Rail Infrastructure Engineer include design production and technical leadership for rail projects pertaining to rail civils and structures works. Specific responsibilities include design, technical leadership of specific design packages as well as coordinating the assembly of plans, specifications, cost estimating and construction support. This position supports various rail and transit projects throughout the Middle East to serve the contract requirements and respond to client needs.
• Provide technical oversight and checking of multi-disciplinary design packages with a bias towards civils.
• Lead the delivery of Engineering Safety Management on major projects working across all engineering disciplines and lifecycle stages.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure that their needs are understood and shape our services in response.
• Support bid writing and pricing to win work.
• Manage programs and budgets for project delivery.
• Take a leading role in the development and sharing of knowledge across the team and mentoring and developing other staff.

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
• BEng degree and an advanced degree may be preferred at this level.
• At least 18+ years rail civil engineering experience.
• Ideally, the individual should also have full rail project life cycle experience from feasibility design to construction and handover.
• Must have good experience in coordination of other aspects of civil engineering such as viaduct, geotechnical, drainage, station structures, M&E for buildings.
• Experienced in railway civil works and systems works interface coordination with the ability to develop an interface control document & interface matrix and subsequent use of the interface documents to manage, coordinate the respective interfaces at the permanent way, station and depot.
• Knowledge of signaling, communications, and other railway/transit system technology is preferred
• The successful candidate will have experience in developing technical specifications, design criteria and drawings for Civils and Structures and the interfaces to other elements of rail engineering. As such, the candidate will have the ability to proactively lead tasks between technical groups and be innovative in solving complex challenges.
• The candidate must be able to manage multiple projects at any given time, labor budgeting and project schedules.
