JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
1. Design & Planning
• Prepare engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical specifications for airport infrastructure projects.
• Designing, building, and maintaining airport facilities, including runways, taxiways, terminal buildings, electronic systems, and other support structures.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and assessments for new developments or rehabilitation projects.
• Contribute to master planning and infrastructure expansion strategies.
• Evaluate engineering proposals and ensure technical compliance with airport design standards.
2. Construction Supervision
• Oversee and supervise on-site civil works to ensure compliance with relevant International and local standards.
• Monitor contractor performance, workmanship, project progress, and safety requirements.
• Review and approve contractor submissions including shop drawings, method statements, ITPs, materials, and test results.
• Identify construction issues and coordinate prompt technical resolutions.
3. Project Management
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control activities.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and progress discussions.
• Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and project status updates.
• Assist in procurement processes including technical evaluations and scope preparation.
4. Quality, Compliance & Safety
• Ensure all engineering activities are relevant to International and local Standards
• Perform quality checks, inspections, and testing for pavement strength, materials, compaction, and surface performance.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and risk-management practices on site.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and compliance reports.
5. Maintenance & Asset Management
• Conduct inspections and condition assessments of airport pavements, utilities, and infrastructure assets.
• Recommend maintenance strategies, rehabilitation works, and improvement initiatives.
• Support the development of pavement maintenance programs and asset management plans.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and lifespan.
Requirements:
Education & Experience• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s Degree is an advantage).
• 3–7 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably within airport or airfield infrastructure projects.
• Experience in airfield pavement design, construction, or maintenance is highly desirable.
• Professional engineering certification (e.g., PE, CEng) is an advantage.
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of relevant International and local standards, as well as applicable airport design requirements.
• Knowledge of pavement engineering, soil mechanics, drainage systems, and airfield construction materials.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS projects, Primervera and other relevant engineering software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, surveys, specifications, and technical documents.
• Familiarity with project management tools and documentation practices.
