Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World <br><br>Aviation Supply Specialist<br>- Performs routine and nonroutine F-16 aircraft material coordination duties for aircraft maintenance, or production shops. <br>- -- Responsible for local management of decentralized and decontrolled items which requires technical intervention to assure effective supply support and economy. Items are less stable or standardized and do not lend themselves to routine control using the computer and variable supply level formulas. Plans requirements, both quantitative and monetary, to satisfy customer needs. Authorizes procurement. <br>- -- Responsible for limited aspects of storage management. May develop and install local procedures and techniques to achieve and maintain smooth, effective, and coordination storage operations. <br>- -- Knowledge of requisitions, supporting documents and reference material to perform material coordination storage management responsibility for aircraft maintenance programs, and production shops. Knowledge of established supply regulations, policies, procedures, and other instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Knowledge to conduct extensive and exhaustive searches for required information in order to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions. Knowledge and ability to perform routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management, such as inventory management, excess property, storage management etc. <br>- -- Supervisor makes assignments by defining objectives, priorities, and deadlines. Supervisor is available to assist the incumbent with unusual situations which do not have clear precedents. Work assignments are performed with considerable independence. Incumbent plans and carries out the successive steps and handles problems and deviations in work assignments in accordance with instructions, polices, prior training etc. Completed work is evaluated for technical soundness, appropriateness and conformity to policy and requirements. Methods used in arriving at the end results are not usually reviewed in detail. <br>- -- Incumbent exercises judgement in selecting, interpreting, modifying and adapting guides which seldom apply directly to the work. <br>- -- Assignments cover one or more aspects of technical supply management work of unusually complicated or difficult technical duties relating to agency, intermediate echelon, depot local or other supply activities. Difficulties may result from the need to consider program variation, complexity of item involved or technical nature of equipment or components. Assignments involve a variety of technical supply management work which involves and requires seasoned practical knowledge of the entire supply system, programs, procedures, etc. Methods and procedures used to resolve issues and situations vary based on the circumstance of each individual case. Work involves conditions and factors that the incumbent must identify and analyze to perceiveinter relationships with other actions, related supply programs and alternative approaches. <br>- -- Work involves a variety of technical supply problem situations either independently or as part of a broader problem solving effort under the control of a specialist. Decisions could have major impact on services provided or adversely impact on the entire supply system. <br>- -- Contacts are with a variety of operating officials, representatives of commercial firms, or with representatives of other government agencies. <br>- -- Purpose of the contacts is to plan, coordinate, or advise on work efforts to resolve operating problems, clarify discrepancies within serviced organizations, and resolve automated system problems causing fallacious transaction records. <br>- -- Performs other duties as assigned. <br><br>GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems.<br><br>SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 5 years' experience which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts.
