JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Job Responsibilities

The Amentum Construction Superintendent will complete organizational and project management responsibilities to effectively lead the construction team and ensure they have all of the resources they need. The duties shall include, but not be limited to:

  • In the early stages of the project, perform material takeoffs and work with the Project Manager (PM) for the purchase of materials and equipment. Assist in the material and equipment submittal process with the customer and A&E's approval prior to final purchase.
  • In the early stages of the project, support warehouse and logistics requirements by inventorying materials and equipment, and plan shipping requirements for the OCONUS shipments. This may include a staged approach to shipments, where the project commences prior to all materials/equipment being available or a limited area to receive the ISO shipping containers.
  • In the early stages of the project, identify construction tools required to successfully complete the OCONUS work.
  • Support the construction effort with personal installation of materials/equipment/material handling, using hand tools and equipment.
  • Manage a team of OCONUS craft personnel of varying skill sets. Coordinate activities that include activities where the entire team may be required to pull wire, handle materials and/or support a special project requirement.
  • Establish safety requirements for the project and implement within Amentum and customer guidelines.
  • Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and implement with team members prior to commencement of work activities.
  • Monitor safety effectiveness by observing activities and implementing change as required.
  • Establish quality standards for the entire project and monitor quality for all installations. Document quality inspections and identify nonconformances. Plan corrective measures for items that do not meet quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients and Project Managers to provide project daily reporting, schedule updates, and project information that supports the project goals.
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate outage needs with the customer and assure the work is completed within established guidelines, safety requirements, and time durations.
  • Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines with safe and effective measures.
  • Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.
  • Assure the project is maintained within the project scope and identify changes when this is not the case.
  • Assist with OCONUS logistic requirements for the project team to include transportation, hotel, and miscellaneous needs to assure team.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong electrical background in installation/managing.
  • Master Electrician.
  • TS Clearance.
  • Minimum 5 years OCONUS construction experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years overall construction experience.
