Wood are actively seeking expressions of interest for a lead static/piping engineer

Wood is looking for a lead static/piping engineer to join its projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and detailed design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of static equipment engineers to carry out FEED and detailed design activities (define stage and execute stage) for an assigned area of a specific project in order to generate the relevant FEED deliverables on time according to DCAF requirements.

Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Typical responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering cost, time and resource (CTR) catalogue for projects.
  • Lead a team of piping/static equipment engineers assigned to a project area.
  • Contribute to basis for design, basis of design, and project specifications/philosophies.
  • Participate in HAZID, design reviews, HAZOPs, 3D model reviews, IPF classifications, HSE related workshops.
  • Collaborate, build relationships, and manage interfaces with other FEED office disciplines, assets project teams, etc. in the assigned project.
  • Ensure seamless handover of FEED deliverables to asset project and operations teams.
  • Mentoring/coaching for EMPDS engineers.
  • Develop specification/datasheet for static equipment.
  • Carry out calculations related to static equipment.
  • Select appropriate material grade based on MSR.
  • Follow quality management system (QMS) requirements in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition requirements.
  • Initiate, check, and/or approve static equipment engineering deliverables.
  • Provide input/review other discipline deliverables as appropriate.
  • Support procurement activities.
  • Responsible for obtaining as-built information and providing solutions in the absence of as-built information.
  • Responsible for managing technical clarifications on scope and needs.
  • Responsible for coordination with the asset teams for the information.
  • Manage all technical changes internally and obtain approval from discipline leads (HOD).
  • Responsible for scope change confirmation (TIN).
  • Accountable for the decision making on changes.
  • Manage all assurance reviews and action close outs.
  • Accountable for raising, uploading, liaising, and technical variances.
  • Responsible for approving TPS final reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Must have strong FEED, pre-FEED, and detailed design experience.
  • Experience in mega project developments.
