EOI - Senior Mechanical Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Wood are actively seeking expressions of interest for senior mechanical engineer role

This role will execute the activities and processes associated with mechanical engineering at the project, under TL scope. Apply and expand hands-on experience in engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation in the oil and gas industry. Responsible for supporting and executing general engineering activities directly linked to mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct application of specifications by contractor, and advise of any conflict with project requirements, objectives, or contractual frame.
  • Ensure the preparation of all piping and static equipment related philosophies, design basis, procedures, standard drawings, and vendor documents.
  • Prepare the piping and static equipment engineering documentation, establishing major methods and data to ensure the selection of the optimum design from both technical and economic standpoints, piping material specification, valve specification, piping design specification, criteria for pipe supporting, and pipe support specification.
  • Review engineering deliverables such as specifications, data sheets, material requisition, TBE, GAD, design calculations, and isometrics, etc., and apply international standards, best engineering practices, and company standards and procedures. Solid expertise and knowledge of current design techniques, concepts, and standards.
  • Provide advice during the material selection criteria and resolution of technical queries and technical deviations during detailed engineering.
  • Ensure technical and quality accuracy for engineering deliverables of piping layout, standards, and isometrics, MTO, and participate in project reviews, workshops, and model reviews.
  • Ensure the preparation and reviews of the stress analysis philosophy.
  • Participate pre and post contract award for discussions and clarifications.
  • Coordinate execution and progress of piping and static equipment engineering design with stakeholders.
  • Liaise with vendor representatives. Manage meetings with the suppliers, client, licenser, and interfaces.
  • Participate in KOM and PIM and monitor inspection works, inspection surveillance, progress, and commissioning visits. Experience with test packs for any air pressure testing of pipe work, and "Golden Welds" for modifications after testing and develop site work packages for engineering work orders applying industry best practices for piping and static equipment.
  • Conduct site inspection/visit for accuracy of piping system and static equipment including mechanical walkdowns, checklist, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Must have strong FEED, pre-FEED, and detailed design experience.
  • Experience in mega project developments.
