JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the daily operations of our transport department. Your primary objective is to ensure the timely and safe delivery of orders while maximizing the efficiency of our fleet and drivers. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure a seamless and cost-effective transportation process.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Develop efficient transportation routes and Journey management plans to minimize delivery times and fuel consumption.
- Assign drivers to routes, monitor their performance, and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet.
- Keep track of inventory levels, monitor stock movement, and ensure accurate documentation of goods in transit.
- Ensure that all transportation operations comply with local and international regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on deliveries.
- Optimize transportation costs through effective fuel management, route planning, and resource allocation.
- Generate and analyze reports on transportation performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and other relevant documents.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to handle unforeseen transportation issues or emergencies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the transportation department.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation or logistics coordination.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics software is an asset.

Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
