JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
- Organize and conduct safety oversight audits, inspections and surveillance of NAV and SUR service providers including their facilities, equipment, procedures, documentation and personnel.
- Identify NAV and SUR service provider deficiencies, develop appropriate corrective actions and assist the service provider with corrective action implementation.
- Review and/or investigate NAV and SUR quality and safety occurrence reports and any other NAV and SUR information concerning safety hazards or deficiencies.
- Update relevant ICAO Compliance Checklists through the ICAO Electronic Filing of Differences (EFoD) database.
REQUIREMENTS
- Appropriate university degree and appropriate training and qualifications as an Aviation Navigation Aids and Surveillance Equipment Engineer.
- At least 15 years experience in provision, regulation and supervision of relevant air navigation services with a well-developed civil aviation authority or equivalent aviation organization.
- Good knowledge of the relevant ICAO Annexes and Documents.
- Familiarity with the ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP) including the eight ICAO Critical Elements of a safety oversight system, the policies of ICAO regarding aviation safety and the development and application of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and State Safety Programs (SSP).
