JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Operations Director to oversee our construction operations for a main contractor based in Oman, Muscat. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the overall operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and safety throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure smooth construction operations.
- Lead and manage a team of project managers, engineers, and other staff to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Oversee and monitor construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and implement strategic plans for the construction operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the operations team, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and resources.
- Monitor and analyze operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize construction processes.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
- Prepare regular operational and financial reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and operational metrics.

Salary:
OMR 5,500 to 6,800 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

REQUIREMENTS

- Proven experience as an Operations Director or in a similar leadership role within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction operations, processes, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- Solid understanding of financial and budget management principles.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Relevant certifications in project management, operations management, or related fields would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
