Role Overview
The Procurement Specialist purchases materials and equipment on a competitive basis as required by project or company needs. The specialist is fully qualified to handle all but the most complex purchasing activities. Typical assignments include engineered and non-engineered items.
The role requires a fully proficient level with complete knowledge of the principles and practices within a discipline. Work is subject to established practices and procedures and may require periodic review with other teams or workgroups. Due to changing priorities or different situations encountered, the incumbent relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Works under supervision and self-initiated technical guidance with regular weekly to monthly interaction with the supervisor. Work is not generally supervised in detail, and the amount of supervision varies depending upon the assignment. Broad duties are assigned monthly, and work is occasionally reviewed for accuracy. Usually, technical guidance is available to review work programs and advise on unusual features of assignments.
Qualifications
- Past experience, especially in the energy, chemicals, and manufacturing sector, is an advantage.
- Experience within the supply chain function, specifically in the procurement of goods and services.
- Knowledge of developing procurement strategy, demand planning, and category management.
- Ability to comprehend and work in systems and applications (e.g., SAP) in the German language.
Language Skills (Mandatory)
- German: Ability to read, write, listen, and speak. Proficiency equivalent to C1 on a six-point scale (CEFR).
- English: Proficiency to read, write, listen, and speak.
- The candidate should be flexible to global working environments and possess the ability to align and support under pressure situations.

Qualification Required
- University degree, or equivalent, in a related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Typically, 5 years of relevant experience.
