Our client is an international retail company. They are currently looking to recruit a Retail Operations Manager to be based in Oman

Duties & Responsibilities:
• To promote the Business Unit within the country, region and globally, delivering exceptional service, product and knowledge to our customers and ensuring sales, margin and profit are achieved in line with our overall business strategy.
• To oversee and manage the day to day retail operations effectively and efficiently, maximizing sales and ensuring the security of stocks and cash in accordance with company policy.
• Drive retail business turnover and profits
• Ensure maximum sales and profits are achieved through correct planning, forecasting and allocation of resources
• Lead, manage and develop the Retail Management team
• Drive Sales and PAS (Passenger Average Spend)
• Consistently ensuring delivery of exceptional customer service and shop floor standards
• Maximise financial returns from retail operations
• Ensure that sales targets are met by the effective communication of relevant information to Duty
• Managers & Supervisors and taking corrective action in the event of sales slowdown
• Motivate the Retail Management team to achieve sales growth through customer satisfaction
• Ensure adequate staffing levels are in place to meet demand, both in peek and off peak
• Drive improvements leading to increased sales (Shift excellence, Rostering tools, real-time sales analysis)
• Implement and drive improvements leading to better On-Shelf availability (OSA audits, Auto-internal replenishment, Auto External Replenishment)
• Provide leadership, motivation and ongoing coaching within the operation to cultivate a successful, agile and effective team
• Liaise with MIS, Finance Department, Purchasing, Security, DM’s, Marketing and Merchandisers to
• maximize sales and return on sales for the business
• Work with Buying and Marketing teams to deliver exceptional product to customer, including all promotions
• Coordinate with the Retail Management team (and Training Manager where applicable) to ensure the shop floor team are trained to deliver the highest retail standards and that any additional or on-going training is implemented
• Work with the General Manager and Retail Management team to deliver profits and costs within budget
• Work with the logistics team to minimize stock loss, and ensure on shelf availability reach targets of
• 97% at all times
• Work with Buyers to perform product range reviews, evaluate their results and make necessary improvements with a view to drive profitability on a continuous basis
• Work with Buying and Logistics teams to reduce aged stock to acceptable levels
• Drive the Retail Management team to support and implement change programmes and direct them to a successful conclusion

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification & Experience:
• Have a proven track record in the development and operation of retail operations (8+ years’ experience)
• Have a third level qualification in a relevant business discipline
• Be sales and performance driven
• Have strong management and proven interpersonal ability
• Hold significant stakeholder management experience
• Possess the ability to identify and evaluate opportunities for and to implement change
• Possess the ability to adapt to varying cultures, work ethics and practices
• Be self-motivated and able to develop a result orientated environment
• Be inspirational and can develop motivated goals orientated team
• Strong Financial and Commercial acumen
• Travel Retail experience desirable
• Experience in Buying/Supply Chain operations
