Senior Resident Engineer / Senior Project Manager -Industrial Waste Facility Construction
Stafford Lawrence Ltd are engaged on a search for a Senior Project Manager /Resident Engineer with experience of the construction of Industrial Waste Facilities Plants. This job vacancy is for an Engineering Consultancy for their offices based in Oman in the Middle East.
Duration : Minimum 33 month Contract
Please Note This is a senior level role 20+ years of experience is a requirement as well as previous Project Management or Resident Engineering experience in the construction of Waste Facilities Plant.
NO previous Middle East experience is required for this engineering vacancy, as long as you can show extensive experience of the Construction of Industrial Waste Facilities Plants with some of this experience with an EPC consultant as a Project Manager or Resident Engineer.
The project consists of not only the Industrial Waste Facilities plant but also ancillary buildings to include the following :
• Waste receiving systems, Bulk sampling area. Unloading and quarantine area. Unloading of solvent bulk waste, Unloading of solid organic waste
• Pre-treatment for containerized liquid organic waste, Pre-treatment for containerized solid organic waste Special waste handling system
• Incineration plant, Central Control Room
• Heat recovery system ,Water chilling system, Tank farm system
• Physical-chemical treatment plant (including treatment for inorganic liquid with solvents) Compressed air and nitrogen production systems, instrument air, atomizing air (service air).
• Staff Service buildings, laboratory, Administration building, Visitors Centre, Canteen, Changing Rooms and Showers, Fire fighting Building, Maintenance workshop
• Isolate tank for liquid nitrogen, Demineralized water production system
• Power Supply, Fire Fighting suppression systems
Responsibilities
• You will be responsible for management and administration of the EPC contract for the employer/client.
• Review plans for procurement scheduling quality, HSE, Manpower, Time, budget.
• Validate and approve design against regulations for safety and environment. As well as reviewing evaluating and approving shop drawings from the EPC Contractor
• Report on the EPC contractors activities during the project phases as well as monitoring construction and installation works against approved program
• Evaluate proposals for Variations equipment, materials, method statements. Liaise with the employer/client and issue comments and recommendations.
• Be involved in all the inspection and testing and commissioning for the project
• Audits for HSE and Quality to be included in monthly progress report
• Respond to Employer queries and Contractor requests in a timely manner
• Ensure the completion date is adhered to.
• Detailed report writing and recording of all delay events
• Report on financial progress and maintain the overall budget and cost plan
• A detailed list of all the other Responsibilities and Requirements of this position will be provided to candidates who are submitted to the client for this role
Requirements:
Requirements and Qualifications Senior Project Manager Waste Plant FacilityPlease Note: Where it is stated ESSENTIAL, it is a requirement.
• The Resident Engineer/ Project Manager will have at least 20 + years of experience. We can consider candidates with slightly less but only 18 years of experience upwards and this will be dependent upon all other requirements being met. Any less than 18 we cannot consider for this vacancy.
• Experience of EPC works is essential for this position, you MUST have been employed with an EPC Consultant at some stage in your career.
• Strong Managerial Experience is also essential
• A BSc Qualification in an Engineering related subject such as Civil Mechanical or Environmental Engineering
• An additional Masters Degree Qualification, is desirable but not essential
• A Chartered or Professional Engineer status is also highly desirable.
• PMP Status is highly regarded
• Experience on at least 2 Industrial Waste Treatment Facilities of £100Mill ( construction and facilities cost) THIS IS ESSENTIAL
• Strong English language skills, with excellent communication and project management ability.
• The ability to work to tight project deadlines and bring projects in on time and to budget.
Salary & Benefits
• This is a full-time permanent position with a well-known European engineering consultancy.
• R.O 3000-3500 per month ( these figures are negotiable for the right person)

Salary:

3,000 to 3,500
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
