JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Responsibilities in architecture management processes:
-Elaborate Architecture Principles, rules and guidelines to support long term IT governance
-Communication and enforcement of Architecture Principles
-Manage changes of Architecte Principles, rules and guidelines continuously
-System Architects should have a high level knowledge about all applications and the main integrations of all applications in Omantel architecture
-Understand the structure and purpose of architecture repository of Omantel
-Continuous maintenance of the architecture repository content
-Monitoring the everyday changes of architecture and update the repository
-Provide reports from the repository for management
-Using the reports of the repository to communicate architecture to other departments (inside and outside IT)
-Analyzing the AS-IS architecture of Omantel, looking for improvements, consolidation, reusing existing solutions
-Provide impact analysis for any change
-Continuous monitoring of IT industry trends and the cutting edge solution applied in the world.

Responsibilities in demand and release management processes:
-Participating in requirements analysis:
o Understand and interpret business requirements
o Synthesize and translate ideas into actionable requirements
o Ensure that the requirements are reflected in the architecture specification
o Communicate existing and future architecture towards both business and IT departments – thus facilitate communication between business and IT. Provide advice, guidance, and information for both parties.
-Manage all demands from architecture governance point of view:
o Each demand should have a system architect assigned (demand manager) who is responsible to collect every architecture related information about the particular demand and share it with the other system architects on the regular system architect meeting.
o The status of the demands should be managed carefully, according to the defined demand management process
o Facilitate communication between the requestor department and the developer team and clarify all architectural questions
-Elaborate conceptual designs based on the requirements and consider all parallel running developments (integrated planning)
-Applying architecture principles during the creation of the conceptual designs
-Enforce and check the compliance with architecture principles of each IT projects
-The architect is responsible for the overall architecture integrity and maintaining the vision from an architectural perspective.
-During the whole lifecycle of the demand the System Architects should always keep an eye on the demand process. This is required, because the architects are responsible for the architectural governance of each IT project and change. If there is a deviation from the strategic directions (form the Architecture Principles) they should be able to recognize it and enforce the application of the principles or escalating the problem to the management.
-Participating in the release bundling activities and performing impact analysis for releases

REQUIREMENTS

•Minimum Bachelor in Computer Science or relevant field
•Should have at least 2 year experience in IT Architecture management
•Overall Experience 5 years
•Basic General IT knowledge
•Basic IT management skills
