JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The Jewelry Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial activities related to the jewelry department of a company. This includes maintaining accurate records, preparing financial statements, and analyzing financial data to ensure the department is operating efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records for the jewelry department, including but not limited to sales, inventory, and expenses.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Prepare and present financial statements to management on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and inventory, to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Manage inventory levels and track inventory movements to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for the jewelry department.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing for supplies and materials.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and make recommendations for improvement.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the jewelry industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with inventory management and reconciliation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
