JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The Accountant General will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the trading company in Qatar, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial data and compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including timely payment of taxes and submission of tax returns.
• Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, including forecasting and planning for future financial needs.
• Oversee the accounting processes, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, and ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
• Manage the company's budget and provide regular updates to senior management on financial performance and variances.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of the annual audit and resolution of any issues identified.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls and compliance with accounting standards.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decision-making and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities.

Salary:
QAR 3,000 to 5,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the trading industry.
• Strong knowledge of local tax regulations and experience in managing tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide recommendations.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
• Fluency in English is required, Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
• CPA or any other relevant professional qualification is preferred.
