JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Charterhouse are currently managing a search for one of our Qatar clients whom are based with the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) jurisdiction.
On a temporary basis, the client is looking to recruit a Compliance Manager to cover their full spectrum of compliance-related functions and obligations under the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA).
This role shall take ownership of a broad scope of compliance disciplines and regulatory reporting, which shall span both first and second line-of-defence, combined with a focus towards regulatory and advisory remits to support the business. At an AVP level, this role shall work closely with both the regulatory authority on-the-ground whilst supporting a reporting line in to the regional head branch based in Dubai.
The role shall be heavily geared towards areas of AML and KYC coverage along with a gearing towards Financial Crime, Risk Mitigation and escalation as and where required within the stakeholder management metric.
REQUIREMENTS
On a temporary/interim basis, the client will look to recruit a compliance professional from within the banking and/or financial services sector. At an AVP level, the candidate shall be required to demonstrate up to 5 years of experience, within either a holistic compliance management role or within a second line-of-defence advisory based position.
The successful candidate will ideally have exposure to the Qatar and/or GCC market and the temporary assignment shall require a candidate whom is immediately and/or readily available to on-board.
A baseline knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance checks shall be a vital aspect of the role; whereby candidates shall need to deliver a capability to support senior reporting lines coupled with any daily interface with the QFC regulator. The role will demand clear reporting, execution and an ability to identify any risk awareness points with both internal and external interfaces.
