JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

We are searching for an experienced and visionary CIO (Chief Investment Officer) to oversee our company’s core business and operational processes, and to ensure delivery against promised objectives. The CIO will optimize our company's operating capabilities, employ strategies to maximize business value and manage business development initiatives and expansion plans. The CIO is accountable for enabling the efficient and effective governance of significant risks, and related opportunities, to the business and its various segments. The CIO role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the CEO (Chief Executive Officer).

The CIO will closely collaborate and complement the CEO’s efforts in implementing the Board-approved business strategy, and help realizing the optimum business vision and mission to ultimately achieve desired objectives. The CIO will have to maintain control of diverse business operations and is expected to be an efficient leader. The CIO will assist in preparing the company's budget and employ strategies to safeguard assets and inventory. The ideal candidate should have a clear understanding of our company’s core values and culture.

Roles and Responsibilities:
In addition to the overall success of the company, the CIO is responsible to maintain control of diverse business operations. The CIO is accountable for the risk management operations of the company, to include the integration of risk concepts into strategic planning, and risk identification and mitigation activities. The goal of the CIO position is to secure the functionality of business to drive extensive and sustainable growth.

1. LEGAL COMPLIANCE:
• Adhere to company, government, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and acting when necessary.

2. GOVERNANCE:
• Ensure all business/investment initiatives align with the company’s core values and culture.
• Create an integrated risk framework for the entire holding company and its subsidiary and related organizations including but not limited to:
• Risk assessment throughout the whole organization.
• Risk limits quantification.
• Risk mitigation plans and monitoring the progress of risk mitigation activities.
• Develop, manage and refine qualitative and quantitative risk reporting which meets the needs of the CEO, Executive Committee and the Board in order to support effective decision making.
• Work closely with the CEO, C-Suite officers, other executive and non-executive committee members, managers across the business and representatives of the shareholder shaping up a high-achieving, well-controlled organization which can achieve growth targets safely.
• Work closely with the Chief Internal Auditor to establish and maintain corporate governance systems and committee structures and reviewing and confirming investment processes.

3. COMMUNICATION & REPRESENTATION:
• Write and submit periodic reports to the CEO, Board of Directors and Committees in all matters of importance.
• Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, vendors, subsidiary & related companies and other key stakeholders.

4. BUSINESS STRATEGY, VISION, MISSION AND PLANNING:
• Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs to steer the company’s future in a positive direction.
• Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.
• Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.

5. MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION:
• Oversee company’s core business operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
• Continuously develop, enhance and embed the risk framework for managing risks across the company, ensuring that processes are fit for purpose.
• Advise on directing capital to projects based on risk.
• Oversee business development and marketing initiatives as key elements for business expansion and growth.
• Drive the company’s operating capabilities to surpass expectations and company goals.
• Control core business costs and introduce tactical initiatives to address business inefficiency.
• Partner with the CEO and CFO to aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves investor targets relative to growth and profitability.
• Participate and recommend expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.).
• Assist the CEO in fundraising ventures, if and when required.
• Assist the CFO with financial projections and analyses of existing partnerships, investments and other business activities.
• Help budgeting and resource allocation efforts alongside the other C-level executives and the senior management team.
• Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.
• Ensure effective attraction of qualified resources, professional development, performance management, and retention.


6. EVALUATION AND QUALITY CONTROL:
• Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement.
• Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting.
• Assess and implement new technologies and collaborate with management regarding its implementation.

REQUIREMENTS

• BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus. CFA certification is preferable. Other investment and asset management certification will be highly regarded.
• 15+ years of proven experience of which at least 5 years as CIO or equivalent role with proven track record of outstanding performance in a complex enterprise.
• Solid investment experience and understanding of the family-owned business functions and diverse business exposure.
• Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
• Experience in fundraising will be a plus.
• A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
• Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills. Bilingual (Arabic/English) is a Plus.
• Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
