JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Commercial Director/Senior Contracts Manager. The successful candidate must have extensive experience in airport construction and a proven track record in managing commercial aspects, including contracts, claims, and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
• Commercial Management: Lead and oversee the entire commercial function of the company's airport construction projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, cost control, and revenue generation.
• Contract Management: Take charge of contract administration, including drafting and reviewing contracts, managing variations, and ensuring adherence to contractual terms and conditions. Collaborate with legal teams as necessary.
• Claims and Dispute Resolution: Develop and implement strategies for the preparation and submission of claims, including EOT (Extension of Time) and prolongation cost claims. Coordinate with internal and external consultants in handling escalated disputes and legal proceedings.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Track project budgets, monitor costs, and forecast P&L (Profit and Loss) and cash flow. Provide accurate and reliable financial forecasts to support decision-making and planning.
• Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, key stakeholders, and project partners to facilitate effective communication, swift payment certification, and resolution of issues. Act as a representative of the company during meetings with clients and external parties.
• Team Leadership: Lead a dedicated contracts and commercial team, ensuring effective resource allocation, performance management, and continuous professional development. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with airport construction projects. Implement strategies and procedures to minimize potential liabilities and ensure compliance with quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.
• Project Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, providing insights on project progress, cost control, and commercial performance. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to optimize project outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in commercial management within the construction industry, specifically in airport construction projects.
• Proven expertise in contract administration, claims management, and dispute resolution.
• Strong knowledge of legal and contractual principles related to construction projects.
• Excellent financial acumen and budgeting skills.
• Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
