JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Charterhouse is working with a renowned banking and financial services provider who is one of the highest performing, well established banks in the region. Our client is looking to hire an Arabic speaking Compliance Manager to oversee their compliance division.
You will implement compliance requirements as mandated under the banks AML / KYC policies. You will also support the business by providing compliant solutions, intervening where necessary to stop any transaction / process / business proposal which is in breach of regulatory requirements. In addition, you will perform AML monitoring and special investigations, reviewing account / customer activity and supporting the business in identifying and reporting AML and terrorist financing cases. You will proactively escalate any critical issues to branch management to protect the branch from getting fined or publicly castigated by a regulatory authority.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate should have a professional qualification in either business; brokerage; commerce; economics or law with at least 5 years’ experience in a banking or financial brokerage institution. You should have comprehensive knowledge of local and international banking laws, practices, AML and sanctions. It is essential you are fluent in both English and Arabic and preference will be given to candidates who are already based in the region.
