Key responsibilities

u2022 To supervise the EPIC contractors during the execution of construction activities at the construction site.
u2022 Participate in reviewing detailed design drawings, method statements, material requisitions, etc.
u2022 Coordinate mobilization of contractors on site.
u2022 Supervise and approve construction activities and coordinate various aspects of project construction including inspections, material submissions and working drawings from contractors, and processing documentation as required.
u2022 Carry out daily checks on contractoru2019s staff and work carried out during the previous day to ensure compliance with prescribed contractual specifications.
u2022 Handle all aspects of mechanical construction activities including site investigations, site surveys etc.
u2022 Supervise installation of fire electric/diesel pumps and jockey pumps.
u2022 Supervise installation of deluge system piping and underground firefighting piping.
u2022 Supervise installation of fire water tanks.
u2022 Good knowledge in deluge and sprinkler system.
u2022 Maintain a daily record of progress (daily diary) noting special comments. Report to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
u2022 Sign work permits on behalf of QP and ensure that contractors comply with conditions fixed on consolidated work permits.
u2022 Participate in development of as-built drawings/documentation.
u2022 Prepare punch list for finished work prior to handover to QP by contractor by paying special attention to all equipment including quality checks.
u2022 Work closely with other QP construction supervisors (electrical, architectural, instrument).
u2022 Report to QP senior construction supervisor on main issues, events at site, progress reporting, trends and recommendations for improvement.
u2022 Accountable for supervising contractoru2019s work that is in progress, inspecting work, reporting problems and preventing accidents occurring because of negligence, by enforcing QP safety standards on the work site.
u2022 Liaise and report with the QC inspector on quality related matters.
u2022 Liaise with the HSE supervisor on safety related matters.
u2022 Prepare daily report of activities and inform QP/asset holders (as per approved distribution matrix) of the progress, constraints and look ahead.

Requirements

Candidate must possess a degree or diploma in mechanical engineering from an internationally recognized university.

u2022 Candidate should have a minimum of 10 to 15 years overall experience in construction of EHV substations up to 132kV and above with exposure to mechanical works connected with substation electrical equipment, HVAC equipment, fire alarm and loss prevention and building services.
u2022 Must have good verbal and written communication skills to interface and communicate with internal and external departments, agencies, contractors and vendors.
