Qualification
B.Sc. in mechanical engineering or equivalent from a recognized university, or diploma in a relevant engineering discipline with extensive construction experience.
Experience
10-15 years' experience in mechanical construction and installation activities in oil & gas projects, including large-scale solar (photovoltaic) projects onshore.
Experience in managing protection of live plants as per approved design requirements.
Familiarity with construction industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards.
Strong skills in construction management, communication, and conflict resolution.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Construction supervision & coordination
Supervise construction works executed by contractors to ensure projects are delivered per approved scope, engineering designs, quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
Review and provide feedback on construction method statements, material submittals, and commissioning procedures throughout project execution.
Act as performing authority for contractors' permits to work.
Supervise site construction/installation of mechanical works under assigned contracts, ensuring safe execution and compliance with approved standards.
Participate in constructability reviews and review contractors' plans, schedules, method statements, and job safety analyses (JSAs).
Coordinate and control contractor mobilization, including site laydown areas and logistics.
Facilitate issuance of permits and site access as required.
Quality control & commissioning support
Inspect and test completed works; arrange pre-commissioning inspections and tests.
Initiate mechanical completion certificates (MCC) and ensure punch list items are completed.
Review and endorse red-marked and as-built drawings.
Participate in facility handover, acceptance, and commissioning activities.
Review and endorse construction dossiers for assigned projects.
Team development
Support local workforce development by ensuring proper job training and professional development of assigned personnel.
