Qualification and experience required

Technical

  • Minimum 6 years of related experience in oil and gas upstream industry.
  • Degree level in accounting, finance, engineering, or other business-related discipline (professional certification is a plus).
  • Good knowledge of SAP and analytical skills in Excel (Power BI is a plus).
  • Solid understanding of the demand/supply chain process and accounting principles in oil and gas upstream industry.
  • Good accounting knowledge including cost allocations and accruals.
  • Understanding of workings and governance concepts of a large organization.
  • Soft skills

  • Activities

  • Assist the senior business analyst to prepare annual budget and closure forecast for the departments he/she oversees, in close collaboration with the managers of these departments.
  • Assist the senior business analyst during the budget session presentations to management.
  • Prepare all necessary SAP entries and supporting documentation for the closure including invoices, scheduled and manual accruals, and cost allocations to ensure accurate financial statements.
  • Collect, organize, and validate information required to accurately represent the business reality of value of work done (physical and contractual advancement of works) and other critical information such as cost allocation drivers in the company's books, according to relevant accounting standards during the monthly closure cycles.
  • Support the senior business analyst to prepare monthly cost reports providing strong variance analysis compared to closure forecast and budget.
  • Support the senior business analyst to ensure cost control measures are maintained to monitor, review, and analyze projects from inception to completion.
  • Have a strong understanding of all activities and scope under departments managed.
  • Ensure all pending invoices are processed promptly and avoid overdue invoices.
  • Responsible for validation of purchase requests and purchase orders raised by business, verified against budget creation.
  • Assist the senior business analyst to maintain up-to-date analytical structures in line with agreed cost control principles.
  • Promote good procure-to-pay practices throughout the organization, ensuring no invoices are received without purchase orders and all invoice approvals comply with the delegation of authority.
  • Comply with provisions of contracts, joint venture agreements, and delegation of authority in the departments managed.
  • Support the senior business analyst in responding to audit queries and resolving audit exceptions.
