JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Our client, a professional services organisation, is looking to hire a Data Protection Officer who has solid experience in European data protection legislation.

Reporting to the Department Head, you will play an integral role by proposing the development of strategy and plans for the data protection directorate by reviewing legislation, proposing updates and amendments, drafting, updating and implementing internal polices to ensure they are in line with international best practice (EU GCPR). You will also ensure all data protection regulations, rules, policies and guidelines are compliant, make recommendations for improvements and handle queries, complaints and investigations. Furthermore you will develop projects and programs designed to facilitate and drive compliance and organise training programs and workshops to foster privacy awareness.

REQUIREMENTS

You should have a law Degree with minimum 10 years’ experience in European data protection legislation, expert knowledge of compliance, investigation and litigation, with a strong understanding of data protection law. A high attention to detail is required with strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Immediate start for the right candidate.
