JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

• Preparation of prequalification, scope of service, design brief and fee proposal for external consultants / suppliers.
• Assessments and recommendations for award of interior works.
• Ensure that the architect's design is delivered by the contractor and is responsible for dealing with any on-site design problems that arise.
• Liaison with suppliers, contractors and consultants to ensure delivery of project to quality, program and budget.
• Management of the supply chain and understanding of and ability to plan for regional problems of procurement.
• Represent the client's interests in the FFE selection, negotiations and approval process with the assigned consultants.
• Design review of all design stages and specifications performance of the Design and Build contract.
• Monitoring progress of works to ensure timely execution of work in accordance with the project schedule and in coordination with the work of other trades and disciplines.
• Direction and supervision of contractors & subcontractors to insure workmanship of construction compliance with design specifications & details.
• Review of material submittals comprising technical literature, samples and mock-ups as appropriate for compliance with design specifications and details within the prescribed project timeframe.
• Coordinate and check drawings for coherence and update changes as required.
• Review of the materials, system and equipment's proposed by the Contractor.
• Clarification about the design and specifications by responding to RFI's (Request For Information)
• Assists Project Manager in review and selection of architectural materials are in compliance with approved material submittals. Issues all architectural correspondences.
• Highlights any violations to architectural related issues on site.
• Attends progress review meetings and co-ordination meetings to assist Project Manager in resolving any site issues such as discrepancies in project's drawings.
• Coordinates with Operator technical inspections and progressive signoff of the design.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a degree in architecture, interior design or comparable with a minimum of 10 years design experience in a consulting and client representative capacity.
• The exceptional communicator we seek will possess strong management skills, an understanding of the local market and suppliers and be practical in approach.
• Strong attention to details.
• Bilingual language skills in English and Arabic are beneficial but not required.
