JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Linum Consult’s client operates out of the Middle East. They are currently seeking a Development Audit Lead to ensure legal compliance and to safeguard the assets of the company. This role will be based in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Carrying out internal audit reviews of risks and controls
• Undertaking inspections in accordance with the approved development audit programmes and special investigations, ensuring compliance with the company’s financial, accounting, administrative, and business policies, systems, and procedures
• Participating in the preparation of the development audit programmes and making suggestions and recommendations for routine and special audit inspections and reviews
• Drawing up a schedule for the assigned special development audits
• Identifying, analysing, and investigating any weaknesses in the company’s systems during audits
• Preparing draft audit reports to cover any observations, recommendations, and detailed working papers
• Following up the reports to ensure any necessary remedial or corrective action has been taken
• Leading smaller, routine audits independently, and supporting the Development Audit Manager on more complex audits
• Attempting to resolve any queries with external auditors, regarding professional audit standards to support their assigned tasks
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree qualification Engineering or Quantity Surveying, with a professional qualification such as CIIA, MRICS, or CEng
• 8-10 years’ experience in Engineering or Quantity Surveying, with at least 6 years’ experience in an Auditing role
• Fluency in English is essential, along with excellent communication skills
• Very strong teamworking skills, high integrity and an ethical approach to your work
